Featured on the program will be American composer David Maslanka’s masterwork "Give Us This Day" (Short Symphony for Wind Ensemble). This piece has had hundreds of performances in the United States and around the world, and never fails to energize both bands and audiences.
The program, under the direction of John P. Morneau will also feature the virtuosic talents of Bass Trombonist Martin McCain, Artist-In-Residence at Stetson University. Mr. McCain will be featured on "World Concerto" by Steven Verhelst, and "Way Down Blues" by Dennis Armitage. Rounding out the program will be a fascinating setting of the American Folk Song "Shenandoah" by acclaimed composer Omar Thomas, and "Silverado" by the renowned television and movie composer Bruce Broughton.
