This public exhibition of the 2025 Envision Resilience Midcoast Maine Challenge is curated by local artist Brian Smith and supported with illustrations by Felipe Alvarez and Tamra Carhart. It features a collection of designs by graduate and undergraduate students studying architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning and the fine arts that are equally visionary and tactile, innovative and implementable, exploratory and rooted in Maine’s hardy and spirited history and culture. Together with local community leaders, these burgeoning designers and artists have engaged in an inquisitive and iterative creative process that harnesses interdisciplinary visioning, nature-based solutions and novel approaches to living with the impacts of climate change.
