Memory Frames: Film, Video, AI and the Archives of the Past

Monday, March 23, 2026 4:30pm to 5:45pm EDT

Join Berlin-based media scholar and video essayist Evelyn Kreutzer for a talk entitled "Memory Frames: Film, Video, AI and the Archives of the Past," an exploration of our relationship with moving images as archives and mediations of memories and histories. Showcasing a range of different audiovisual approaches within what might be conceptualized as “videographic memory studies,” Dr. Kreutzer's talk will address the ways in which the rise of generative AI might impact and transform both our creative engagements, and our understanding of mediated memories. Sponsored by the Davis AI Fund.
