DESCRIPTION:The American\, French\, and Haitian Revolutions of the late eig
hteenth and early nineteenth centuries transformed the Atlantic World. Dif
ferent freedoms coming from these revolutions created new societies\, aspi
rations\, and possibilities. The cultural and scientific exchanges made ne
 w political systems\, economies\, artistic expressions\, and cuisines. Art
works at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art follow these threads to the pre
sent era and bear witness to our overlapping and intertwined societies. Jo
hn W. Franklin is Managing Member at Franklin Global LLC and Senior Manage
