“Sureeli Saanjh: An Evening of South Asian Music”

The newly-formed South Asian Performing Arts Ensemble presents its debut concert under the direction of Aruna Kharod. In keeping with the theme of Sureeli Saanjh (lit., 'melodious evening'), the ensemble will share pieces in ragas traditionally associated with evening time. Repertoire spans various South Asian languages and musical traditions, from Bengali to Telugu and Carnatic to qawwali.

On the second half of the program, the Bowdoin Electro-Acoustic Ensemble, directed by Badie Khaleghian, will perform its inaugural concert.
