Dr. Hamilton is a significant figure in the field of medieval digital humanities and gender studies. Her work uses digital mapping tools and data analysis to uncover previously overlooked and ignored histories of female patronage and consumption of artworks in the later Middle Ages. This lecture is on the results of her project, “Mapping Women in Fourteenth-Century Paris” and will be of particular interest to those who are studying various facets of medieval and early modern cultures, those who are interested in digital approaches to Humanities scholarship, and those with an interest in the history and historiography of gender and sexuality.
